Rian Johnson's 2012 sci-fi thriller is set in 2044, when time travel exists but is outlawed, and criminals send people back to be shot by hired killers called loopers. Joe, played by Joseph Gordon-Levitt, is good at his job until his target turns out to be his own older self, played by Bruce Willis. As Old Joe goes on the run with a plan to change his future, young Joe hides on the farm of Sara, played by Emily Blunt, and her unusual son Cid.
