End of Watch is a 2012 police drama written and directed by David Ayer and shot largely in a found footage style. Jake Gyllenhaal and Michael Pena play Brian Taylor and Mike Zavala, two close friends and LAPD officers who patrol the dangerous streets of South Central Los Angeles while Brian films their daily work. Between banter in the patrol car, family life and Brian's romance with Janet, played by Anna Kendrick, the partners stumble onto the secrets of a Mexican cartel that marks them for death.
