Memento is a 2000 mystery thriller written and directed by Christopher Nolan. Guy Pearce plays Leonard Shelby, a former insurance investigator who lost the ability to make new memories after an attack in which his wife died. Relying on tattoos, notes and Polaroids, he searches for the man responsible with the help of the friendly Teddy and the bartender Natalie, played by Joe Pantoliano and Carrie-Anne Moss. The story is famously told in reverse order, so the audience shares Leonard's confusion.
