Black Hawk Down is a 2001 war film directed by Ridley Scott and produced by Jerry Bruckheimer, based on the book by Mark Bowden. In October 1993 elite US soldiers fly into Mogadishu, Somalia, for what should be a quick raid to seize two lieutenants of a warlord. When two Black Hawk helicopters are shot down, the troops, including Sergeant Matt Eversmann played by Josh Hartnett, are pinned in the city overnight. Ewan McGregor, Tom Sizemore and Eric Bana also star in this intense story of survival and brotherhood.
