Created by Ira Parker and George R. R. Martin for HBO, this 2026 fantasy adventure adapts Martin's Tales of Dunk and Egg. Peter Claffey plays Ser Duncan the Tall, a towering, good-hearted hedge knight who enters the tourney at Ashford Meadow, and Dexter Sol Ansell plays Egg, the sharp little squire who hides a royal secret. Set about a hundred years before Game of Thrones, the series swaps dragons for mud, jousts and honour, with a warm, often funny tone and a Targaryen family at its height.
