Created by Noah Hawley and inspired by the Coen brothers' film, this FX crime anthology premiered in 2014 and tells a new story in each season. The first follows meek salesman Lester Nygaard, played by Martin Freeman, whose life changes after he meets the drifter Lorne Malvo, played by Billy Bob Thornton. Later seasons bring Kansas City mobsters, the enigmatic V. M. Varga, Chris Rock's Loy Cannon and Juno Temple's Dot Lyon, all mixing pitch-black humour with suspense.
