Seven Samurai is a 1954 Japanese epic directed by Akira Kurosawa and one of the most influential films ever made. In sixteenth-century Japan, villagers threatened by a gang of bandits go to town to find samurai willing to fight for nothing but food. The wise veteran Kambei, played by Takashi Shimura, gathers a band of warriors that includes the master swordsman Kyuzo and the wild, boastful Kikuchiyo, played by Toshiro Mifune, and prepares the village for a desperate battle.
