Amadeus is a 1984 period drama directed by Milos Forman, based on Peter Shaffer's play. In old age, the Viennese court composer Antonio Salieri, played by F. Murray Abraham, tells a priest how the arrival of the brilliant, childish Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, played by Tom Hulce, filled him with envy. Salieri recognises Mozart's genius better than anyone and cannot forgive God for giving it to such a man. The film is full of Mozart's music and won eight Academy Awards, including Best Picture.
