Death Proof is a 2007 action thriller written and directed by Quentin Tarantino, first released as half of the Grindhouse double feature. Kurt Russell plays Stuntman Mike, a scarred stunt driver whose muscle car has been made death-proof, but only for the person behind the wheel. He targets groups of young women on the road in Texas and later Tennessee, where he meets stuntwoman Zoë Bell, playing herself, and her friends. The film pays tribute to 1970s exploitation cinema and classic car chases.
