Disney's 1999 animated adventure, directed by Kevin Lima and Chris Buck, retells Edgar Rice Burroughs' story. Shipwrecked as a baby, Tarzan is adopted by the gorilla Kala and grows up swinging through the jungle, eager to win the respect of the troop's stern leader Kerchak. When an expedition arrives with the curious Jane, her father and the hunter Clayton, Tarzan must decide where he belongs. Phil Collins' songs drive the story, with Tony Goldwyn and Minnie Driver.
