Prometheus is a 2012 science fiction film directed by Ridley Scott and set in the universe of his film Alien. In 2093 the research ship Prometheus carries archaeologists Elizabeth Shaw and Charlie Holloway, played by Noomi Rapace and Logan Marshall-Green, to the moon LV-223, following cave paintings they believe were left by the Engineers who made humankind. With the android David, played by Michael Fassbender, and corporate officer Meredith Vickers, played by Charlize Theron, they uncover a dangerous secret.
