Steven Spielberg's 2018 sci-fi adventure, based on Ernest Cline's novel, follows Wade Watts (Tye Sheridan), who escapes his crowded Columbus slum by playing in the OASIS. When its late creator James Halliday leaves his fortune to whoever finds three keys hidden in the game, Wade's avatar Parzival teams up with Art3mis, Aech and friends against the corporation IOI. Packed with pop-culture references, it mixes video-game spectacle with a warm message about real life.
