O Brother, Where Art Thou? is a 2000 comedy adventure written and directed by Joel and Ethan Coen, loosely inspired by Homer's Odyssey. George Clooney plays Everett McGill, a fast-talking convict who escapes a Mississippi chain gang with the slow-witted Pete and Delmar to recover a buried fortune. On their way through the Depression-era South they meet a blind prophet, sirens, a one-eyed Bible salesman and a bank robber, and accidentally record a hit bluegrass song as the Soggy Bottom Boys.
