James Gunn's 2014 space adventure comedy introduced Marvel's most unusual team. Peter Quill, a scavenger who calls himself Star-Lord and still plays the mixtape his mother gave him, steals a mysterious orb that the zealot Ronan wants for the warlord Thanos. On the run, he falls in with the deadly Gamora, the vengeful Drax, the sharp-tongued Rocket and the gentle giant Groot. The misfits must learn to trust each other to save the galaxy, set to a soundtrack of 1970s pop hits.
