Amores Perros is a 2000 Mexican drama thriller directed by Alejandro González Iñárritu, his first feature film. A violent car crash in Mexico City connects three stories: young Octavio, played by Gael García Bernal, who falls for his brother's wife; Valeria, a glamorous model whose life changes after the accident; and El Chivo, a former guerrilla turned hitman who lives with a pack of stray dogs. Each story explores love, betrayal and the cruelty people show one another.
