Citizen Kane is a 1941 drama directed by and starring Orson Welles, often called one of the greatest films ever made. When the powerful publisher Charles Foster Kane dies alone in his palatial estate Xanadu uttering the word Rosebud, a newsreel reporter sets out to learn what it meant. Through the memories of his guardian, his business manager, his old friend Jed Leland and his second wife Susan, the film pieces together Kane's rise and fall. Its deep-focus camera work and bold storytelling changed cinema.
