Hellboy II: The Golden Army is a 2008 superhero fantasy written and directed by Guillermo del Toro, the sequel to Hellboy. Ron Perlman returns as Hellboy, the demon investigator of the Bureau for Paranormal Research and Defense, alongside Liz Sherman, played by Selma Blair, and Abe Sapien, played by Doug Jones. When the elf prince Nuada breaks an ancient truce and seeks the pieces of a crown that controls the Golden Army, the team journeys into a hidden world of trolls, fairies and creatures.
