Created by Michael Dante DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko, this Nickelodeon animated series ran for three seasons, called Books, from 2005 to 2008. Twelve-year-old Aang, the Avatar and last surviving Air Nomad, wakes from a century frozen in ice and travels the world with Katara, Sokka and later Toph to learn water, earth and fire bending. Hunting them is the exiled Prince Zuko, guided by his tea-loving Uncle Iroh, whose journey became one of animation's most celebrated redemption arcs.
