Sidney Lumet's 1957 courtroom drama takes place almost entirely in a single room. Twelve jurors must decide whether a young man is guilty of killing his father, and a guilty verdict means the death penalty. Eleven are ready to convict at once, but Juror 8, played by Henry Fonda, has doubts. As the afternoon heats up, he patiently examines each piece of evidence while tempers flare and the jurors reveal their own prejudices.
