The Sting is a 1973 crime caper directed by George Roy Hill that won seven Academy Awards, including Best Picture. In 1930s Chicago, young con man Johnny Hooker, played by Robert Redford, accidentally robs a courier of New York racketeer Doyle Lonnegan, and his partner is killed in revenge. Hooker teams up with veteran grifter Henry Gondorff, played by Paul Newman, to pull off the biggest con of all, a fake betting parlour, to ruin Lonnegan, to the ragtime of Scott Joplin.
