In Bruges is a 2008 dark crime comedy written and directed by Martin McDonagh. After a botched job in London, hitmen Ray, played by Colin Farrell, and his older partner Ken, played by Brendan Gleeson, are ordered by their volatile boss Harry, played by Ralph Fiennes, to lie low in the fairytale city of Bruges. Ken enjoys the canals and churches while restless, guilt-ridden Ray hates every minute, until a call from Harry changes everything. The film mixes sharp, foul-mouthed humour with melancholy and violence.
