Kenneth Branagh's 2011 Marvel fantasy adventure introduces the god of thunder. Thor, heir to the throne of Asgard, starts a war with the Frost Giants against his father Odin's wishes and is cast down to Earth without his hammer Mjolnir. In a small New Mexico town he meets the scientist Jane Foster and slowly learns humility, while his clever brother Loki schemes in Asgard. A colorful mix of Norse myth, cosmic spectacle and fish-out-of-water comedy.
