Walt Disney Animation's 1997 musical comedy, directed by Ron Clements and John Musker, retells the Greek legend with gospel-singing Muses as narrators. Stolen from Mount Olympus as a baby by the scheming Hades, Hercules grows up on Earth as a clumsy teenager with godlike strength. Trained by the satyr Phil and accompanied by the winged horse Pegasus, he sets out to prove himself a true hero, but falls for the sharp-tongued Meg, who is secretly working for Hades. Songs are by Alan Menken.
