Brad Bird's 1999 animated science-fiction adventure is set in a small Maine town in 1957, at the height of the Cold War. Nine-year-old Hogarth Hughes discovers a huge robot that fell from the sky and is hungry for metal. He hides his new friend at the scrapyard of beatnik artist Dean McCoppin and teaches it about life, while federal agent Kent Mansley grows certain the Giant is a weapon. Vin Diesel voices the Giant, with Eli Marienthal and Jennifer Aniston.
