Underworld is a 2003 action fantasy directed by Len Wiseman. Kate Beckinsale plays Selene, a Death Dealer in a centuries-old secret war between vampires and lycans, the werewolves. When she sees the lycans hunting a young doctor, Michael Corvin, played by Scott Speedman, she starts to suspect that her own coven is hiding the truth about the war. With Michael Sheen as the lycan leader Lucian and Bill Nighy as the ancient vampire elder Viktor, the film launched a long-running franchise.
