Joel Crawford's 2022 DreamWorks animated adventure, a sequel to Puss in Boots from the Shrek universe, finds the swashbuckling cat discovering he has burned through eight of his nine lives. Shaken by a relentless bounty hunter wolf, Puss sets out to find the Wishing Star in the Dark Forest, joined by his former love Kitty Softpaws and the relentlessly upbeat dog Perrito. Rivals Goldilocks and the Three Bears and crime boss Big Jack Horner want the wish too. Antonio Banderas and Salma Hayek return in this painterly fairy-tale comedy.
