Airplane! is a 1980 disaster movie parody written and directed by Jim Abrahams and David and Jerry Zucker. Robert Hays plays Ted Striker, a traumatised ex-pilot who boards a flight to win back his girlfriend, stewardess Elaine. When the pilots and many passengers are struck down by the fish dinner, Ted has to take the controls with help from Dr. Rumack, played by Leslie Nielsen. Packed with deadpan one-liners and visual gags, it is often called one of the funniest films ever made.
