Christopher Nolan's 2005 reboot tells the origin of Batman, with Christian Bale as Bruce Wayne. After years of wandering, Bruce is trained by the mysterious Ducard and the League of Shadows, then returns home to a Gotham ruled by crime boss Carmine Falcone. With help from Alfred, Lucius Fox and honest cop Jim Gordon, he builds a new identity to fight back, only to face a far larger threat involving the Scarecrow. A grounded, serious take on the legend.
