Tropic Thunder is a 2008 action comedy directed by Ben Stiller. Stiller plays fading action star Tugg Speedman, who joins method actor Kirk Lazarus, played by Robert Downey Jr., and comedian Jeff Portnoy, played by Jack Black, on an expensive Vietnam war movie. When the shoot falls apart, the director drops the cast into the jungle to film guerrilla-style, where they run into a real drug gang while still believing it is all part of the script. Tom Cruise steals scenes as studio boss Les Grossman.
